JJ Steakhouse

Part ni (two) of Nick’s birthday, on his real birthday: Took him out for STEAK! Unfortunately, the dim lighting was not conducive for a good photo…too bad, because those steaks looked fantastic. Nick ordered a massive T-bone, and I got the Petite Filet Mignon…oh yes, we are well on our way for some coronary problems in the future.

the only decent picture I got was this:

the tart lemon sorbet they served prior to the steak, maybe functioning to ease our palates?

Nick preferred JJ over Ruth’s! But I beg to differ…

oh, and their buttered garlic mashed potatoes were amazingggg. i’d go back just for those mashed potatoes!

Promenade Ristorante

We ate at this restaurant mid-October (yes, weeks ago!) but I’ve just been sidetracked with other things lately so I’m totally playing catch-up here. I took Nick out for a show in LA for part ichi (one) of his birthday. We just found this restaurant in a little plaza across from the Walt Disney Concert Hall before our show started.

710 W 1st St, Los Angeles, CA 90012

bread was yummy, and the green dip (not sure what it is) was equally yummy, if i recall correctly (nick didn’t like it, but of course I liked it). And they supplied us with more bread when our plate was almost through! odd, that rarely ever happens. this might have something to do with the fact that the restaurant was virtually empty when we walked in (that’s not to say that it wasn’t full when we walked out).

It’s been too long…can’t remember! I know we both got some sort of bolognese pasta dishes…
